We (Deone and I) have been rewatching episodes of The Chosen. It’s been an even richer experience than our first viewing experience. The most recent episode worked around Peter knowing of Jesus, but not seemingly knowing Jesus. The scene revolves around a miraculous catch of fish.
Peter has been fishing all night long, casting net after net, and catching nothing. Pulling into shore, early morning, exhausted, on the shore, Jesus is there. “Peter, pull out into the water and cast your net one more time.” I can imagine Peter’s reaction of frustration… yet, out of respect, not faith, he pulls out and casts the net one more time.
The net is suddenly overflowing, filled to net stretching integrity, with fish! And the boat is overflowing with caught fish. Impossible! Of course it is, with man. With God? Possible.
Do you have something in your life that seems impossible? With man. Yes. Impossible. With God? Possible. I’ve been thinkin’. Do you have a mountain of unforgiveness in your life you need moved? With man… impossible. With God… possible.
Our denomination has taken on a bold vision and plan for discipleship. It seems daunting, impossible. With man? Impossible. With God? Possible. May the Lord, our God, bring you to see and experience the possible with God in whatever you may be challenged with today. See you Sunday,
Pastor Mark
