2026-06-25: Pastor Mark Quist – Growing in Christ: Loving your Neighbor: Neighboring (welcome, hospitality, generosity)

June 28th is coming! Looking forward to seeing all of you Sunday for worship, communion, a congregational meeting (once a year!), and a fellowship meal! And just around the corner? We celebrate the 250th birthday of our country and the 150th birthday of our state of Colorado. Wowser! (Makes you wonder, what’s the city of Boulder’s birthday? 168 years!)
Sunday, we explore together God’s great command to Love Your Neighbor. Of course, one cannot even begin to understand or know how to love one’s neighbor without knowing the love of God, so… exploring the love of God will definitely be included – an endless journey of growth in knowing, for ‘the love of God is greater far than tongue or pen could ever tell.’
How does one love their neighbor? How does it look? I’d like to suggest two simple ways we can begin to better love our neighbor. For loving our neighbor is also an endless journey of growth. The two ways? Curiosity and Hospitality. Curiosity and hospitality flow from God’s continual curiosity and hospitality with us. After all, we love God and others, because God first loved us. And our love for others naturally flows from God’s love for us and our love for God. “Where are you?” God is always asking. Because he loves us and is curious about us. “What would you like me to do for you?” God continually asks us. Because he is hospitable and generous.
When we are curious and hospitable with others, we simply imitate God and his love for us. Ready to explore this with you Sunday. See you then,
Pastor Mark
