Step One: Worship the Lord

Scripture: Matthew 9:35-38 (read aloud)

“Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues,

proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them,

Because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.

Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

Prayer: Lord Jesus, give us eyes for compassion.  That in seeing the harassed and helpless we can teach, proclaim, and put into action the good news of the kingdom.  Raise us up as workers ready to serve in these ways.  Send us out into the harvest.

Prayer: Read Ephesians 3:14-21 and then take up to 5 minutes of silence inviting God to speak to you.  If there is something you would like to ask God, ask Him.  

Eph 3:14-21

I now kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.  I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power

through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell

in your hearts through faith.  And I pray that you,

being rooted and established in love, may have power,

together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep

is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge –

that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine,

according to his great power that is at work within us,

to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations,

for ever and ever!  AMEN.

  • How has God’s love transformed you?  What is and are your story (ies) of transformation?  What are you in need of God’s love transforming?  Know, Understand, Experience, Receive God’s love and it will transform you, re-form you into the image of Jesus Christ.
