Worship for Sunday May 17th, 2020:
Step One: Worship with prayer and song:
Prayer: Read this prayer aloud and begin with a time of silence
Lord Almighty, who has ordered this wondrous world,
and who knows all things in earth and heaven:
So fill our hearts with trust in thee that by night and day,
at all times and in all seasons,
we may without fear commit all that we have
and hope to be to thy never-failing love,
for this life and the life to come;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Give thanks to the Lord, his love endures forever. Amen.

Song: Is he Worthy? by Chris Tomlin

Scripture: Galatians 5:12-14. Read aloud.
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free.
But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh;
Rather, serve one another humbly in love.
For the entire law is fulfilled
in keeping this one command:
“Love your neighbor as yourself.”
So I say, walk by the Spirit.
Song: Just As I Am performed by Jeff Widenhofer

Prayer: Prayer Statement
Our Almighty Father is redeeming all things and calls us to be his hands and feet.
We cannot proclaim to the world a relationship we lack ourselves
Or produce the power of change from our own strength.
Rather, we respond by receiving the love of Christ
And his abiding presence with us.
Through daily and weekly rhythms of worship,
We disrupt our own agenda to align ourselves with the work of the Holy Spirit
And express our faith and every thought, word, and deed.
(Weekly prayer from Coalition for Christian Outreach)

Step Three: Engage the Message: The Good Samaritan Luke 10:25-37, The What-Why-How for Such a Time as This (15 min)
Questions for discussion:
- How can we draw near to others and their needs in the midst of social isolation?
- What would be the current ‘blinders’ that hinder us from seeing the needs of another?
- Jesus loves the forsaken and sees the outsider. Who is in need of Jesus love within your circle of contact? How can you be Jesus helper and witness today?
Step Four: A Final Blessing: Pastor Mark
