Scripture Passages and Lyrics to worship songs

The Old Testament reading from Psalm 46:

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth gives way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.  There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.  God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.

The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.  He says, “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”  The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.

A New Testament reading from Philippians 1:3-6, 9-11

“I thank my God every time I remember you.  In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it out to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

This is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the da of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ – to the glory and praise of God.”  This is the Word of the Lord.  Thanks be to God
