Order of Worship

Pre-service: – Gathering music…

Welcome and Opening Prayer: Jeff

Song: 10,000 REASONS

(Refrain)

Bless the Lord, Oh my soul

Oh my soul, worship his holy name

Sing like never before, Oh my soul

I’ll worship your holy name

The sun comes up, it’s a new day dawning

It’s time to sing your song again

Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me

Let me be singing when the evening comes

(Refrain)

You’re rich in love and You’re slow to anger

Your name is great and Your heart is kind

For all Your goodness, I will keep on singing

Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find

(Refrain)

And on that day when my strength is failing

The end draws near and my time has come

Still my soul will sing Your praise unending

Ten thousand years and then forevermore(Refrain)

Responsive Reading: Jeff (based on Isaiah 52-53, 63-64)

Leader: How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who proclaim salvation.

People: Surely, he took up our pain and bore our suffering. He was despised and rejected by humanity, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.

Leader: I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the Lord has done for us.

People: We all like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Leader: You Lord, are our Shepherd and Savior.  We are the clay, you are the potter; we are the work of your hand.

People: Because he poured out his life unto death, he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Leader: God you have given us grace and mercy and your life-giving Spirit.

People: All praise, glory, and honor be to you, our Savior and Lord.

Prayer: Mark

Message: Faith Does: Submit Yourselves to God  Part 2: Love One Another  James 4:7-12

Song response: GATHER US IN

Here in this place new light is streaming

Now is the darkness vanished away

See in this space our fears and our dreamings

Brought here to you in the light of this day

Gather us in, the lost and forsaken

Gather us in, the blind and the lame

Call to us now and we shall awaken

We shall arise at the sound of our name

We are the young, our lives are a my’stry

We are the old who yearn for your face

We have been sung throughout all of hi’stry

Called to be light to the whole human race

Gather us in, the rich and the haughty

Gather us in, the proud and the strong

Give us a heart so meek and so lowly

Give us the courage to enter the song

Not in the dark of buildings confining

Not in some heaven light years away

But here in this place the new light is shining

Now is the kingdom, now is the day

Gather us in and hold us forever

Gather us in and make us your own

Gather us in, all peoples together

Fire of love in our flesh and our bones
