Scripture Passages and Lyrics to worship songs

Call to Worship:

Leader: God, giver of all good things, your desire is for us to have life, and have it abundantly.

People: God, we have questions about COVID-19. As we wear masks in worship, as we battle our fears, as we see a tally of those who have died.

Leader: We trust in your promises and believe that you make everything beautiful in its time, and yet we live in the midst of a hurting and broken world.

People: Grant us patience, that we may wait in hope for your healing and redemption.

Leader: We pray for those who are lonely and seeking relationship – who desire incarnational friendship and connection.

People: Be present in our waiting, and may our loneliness and longing be met by your love.

Blest Are They David Haas

Blest are they, the poor in spirit; theirs is the kingdom of God.
Blest are they, full of sorrow; they shall be consoled.

Refrain: Rejoice, and be glad! Blessed are you, holy are you!
Rejoice and be glad! Yours is the kingdom of God!

Blest are they, the lowly ones: they shall inherit the earth.
Blest are they, who hunger and thirst; they shall have their fill.
Blest are they, who show mercy; mercy shall be theirs.
Blest are they, the pure of heart; they shall see God!
Blest are they, who seek peace; they are the children of God.
Blest are they who suffer in faith; the glory of God is theirs.
Blest are you, who suffer hate, all because of me.

Rejoice and be glad, yours is the kingdom of God; shine for all to see.

In Christ Alone   Keith and Kristyn Getty

In Christ alone my hope is found.  He is my light, my strength, my song
This cornerstone, this solid ground.  Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace.  When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My comforter, my all in all.  Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, Who took on flesh.  Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness.  Scorned by the ones He came to save
‘Til on that cross as Jesus died.  The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid.  Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay.  Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day.  Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory.  Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine.  Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death.  This is the pow’r of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath.  Jesus commands my destiny
No pow’r of hell, no scheme of man.  Can ever pluck me from His hand
‘Til He returns or calls me home.  Here in the pow’r of Christ I’ll stand

No pow’r of hell, no scheme of man.  Can ever pluck me from His hand
‘Til He returns or calls me home.  Here in the pow’r of Christ I’ll stand
