Living Like We Belong

From left to Right: Pastors Mark Quist, Eric Snyder and Rick Ebbers

Welcome to Pastor Rick Ebbers from our sister church The Journey in Longmont.  Rick and I both thought it a good idea to trade messages to each other’s faith communities.  Rick and I have been friends for about 15 years now.

Rick will be bringing a message from Ephesians 4:1-16, a message on the unity and maturity in the body of Christ – because of Christ!  Rick will preach on the theme of Living Like We Belong.

In reading the text for Sunday’s message, what are the characteristics that mark the Christian community?  The text has many defining characteristics.

Unity in Christ is something we are given when we come to know Christ.  Jesus accomplished our unity and Paul simple calls the church to ‘make every effort to keep it.’  Gonna be a great time of celebrating Christ!

On April 7th and 14th, we will complete our series on the Ten Commandments with the call to Telling the Truth and The Desires of your Heart.

In the name of Jesus, for the sake of Christ and his kingdom,

Pastor Mark

The Key To Our Unity

Here we are, at the end of year 2017.  What are you thankful for?  How has God brought you and led you through another year of life?  And what are you looking forward too (hoping for) in 2018?

Sunday, we will have the chance to share these answers with one another in worship and reflect on the past, present, and future.  Everyday God gives us is a gift.  My prayer is for God’s continued leading of us, through Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit, to be a light for Him in our communities.  Jesus, lead on!

We step away from the Gospel of Matthew for one week to focus on a message from Philippians 2:1-11, one of my favorite passages in all of Scripture.  Its one of those passages that has sunk deep into my heart and I often rehearse in my spirit.  One of my hopes for 2018 is that there would be continued and deepening unity in the body of Christ, his church.  I pray this specifically for Crestview, but also in a grand way for the church throughout America and the World.  Philippians 2:1-11 gives us The Key to our Unity.  As you read the text for Sunday’s coming message, how does Unity come into being?  What and how does it look like?

It has much to do with Jesus and our response to others in the name of Jesus. See you Sunday, get ready – 2018 is coming soon!
