Dear Friends,

I just finished reading the book we will study in the fall about Mother Teresa called To Love and Be Loved by Jim Towey. What a good book! Did you know that Mother Teresa experienced profound and prolonged periods of inner darkness (possibly depression)? Did you know that she also frequently suffered from severe back pain? Jim Towey, the author of this book, talks about his own life too as it intersected with Mother Teresa. He was unsure himself of his calling for a while but listened for God’s direction in the Word and in fellow believers like Mother Teresa.

I hope you have a chance to read Towey’s book this summer. The Amazon link to the book is here. I am leaving for Asia tomorrow morning and won’t be back until the 17th. See you then!
