We have many annual events for family fellowship and fun as we live out our Christian life in community. Family at Crestview means everyone. We believe in living out the seasons of our lives together as the seasons cycle through the years. Check out our events and join us!
A celebration to remember! This fun day includes a Easter Sunday service at 9:30am, followed by a light brunch in the fellowship hall. After the service, we offer a community-inclusive Easter egg hunt in the backyard of the church for kids of all ages. Don’t forget to enjoy a slice of cake after collecting eggs. If weather isn’t permitting, we move the egg hunt indoors. Come to any and all events.
Bike to Work Day
Crestview Church is proud to participate in summer and winter Bike to Work Day, a Boulder city- and nation-wide event. For both seasonal days, we provide a breakfast station serving Brewing Market Coffee & Moe’s Bagels to bike and walk commuters on their way to school, work, or just out for a morning stroll. In the summer, we also offer a free front-yard picnic party in the evening with music, games, bike tune-ups, and grilled and potluck food! In the winter, also offer a chili potluck dinner and game night.
Summer BBQs and End of Summer Rocket Launch
Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of June, July, and August, we offer a front-yard grill BBQ, open to everyone. This is a fun event for new and old friends in the neighborhood to eat good food and meet one another. We have all the food and tableware covered, just bring yourself! Optional: you can bring a side/dessert dish. If available, we have a community guest speaker give a talk afterwards (e.g. Eco-Cycle explaining how Boulder’s recycle and compost facilities operate; Thrivent giving advice on 401K; Local athletes sharing their latest experiences).
Have an interest in getting outdoors? Maybe you are a veteran camper or you are new to sleeping under the stars. Come join Crestview for a weekend camping from Friday – Sunday, typically the end of June. We go to a campground about an hour from Boulder, and for the past few years, we have visited Golden Gate Canyon State Park. Our tent sites are near one another so we can come together as often or as little as personal preference. Explore the outdoors during the day with hiking, fishing, walking, playing frisbee, or just relaxing amongst nature.
In September, we provide a free pancake breakfast on the front lawn – not just pancakes though, we also offer: breakfast sausage, fruit, Brewing Market coffee, and orange juice. Also available is a bouncy castle for kids to have fun, and hula hoops and cornhole. Stay afterwards, if you’d like, for our outdoor service!
Looking for a safe way to trick-or-treat with your kids? We have just the event for you! From 5-7pm, many Crestview’ers set up their car trunks with a fun theme to marvel and enjoy. Each trunk station typically has a mini-game for your kids to enjoy and receive candy or toys at. We make this a party for all but also having a roasting marshmallows and s’mores fire pit, hot cider and hot cocoa, and festive music. Come in costume and come see our costumes too!
Operation Christmas Child
Looking to make an impact this season? We partner with Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child to collect items to be packed in shoeboxes and shipped to kids in need all over the world. During November, you can drop off items to Crestview that fit in one of three categories: Hygiene, School Supplies, Toys. At the end of November, join our kids for a packing party, or volunteer with our teen group in December at the Denver OCC Distribution Center. For more information, visit: Samaritan’s Purse.
Hike to the Star
In Boulder, Flagstaff mountain sparks so much joy when the star is assembled on the mountain. Join us as we gather a group of 30-40 people to carpool up to Panorama Point and hike to the star just after sunset. All ages and all skill levels welcome to this 2 hour event. Some hike all the way to the top, and some of us hike to the base of the star. On the path up, we organize a scavenger hunt for the kids to find tins with little toys and treats. Once we finish the hike and are back at Panorama Point, we enjoy homemade hot cocoa and cookies while marveling the scenic view of Boulder’s nighttime sky.
