Scripture Passages and Lyrics to worship songs

New Testament Reading: Readings from the Gospel of Matthew:

Matthew 19:13-14, 18:3, “People brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them.  Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”  “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 13:31-32, “The kingdom of God is like a mustard seed which a man took and planted in a field. Though it is the smallest of seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”

Matthew 13:44, “The kingdom of God is like treasure hidden in a field.  When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought the field.  Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls.  When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.”

Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you.”

Old Testament Reading

Exodus 19:6, “You are to be my treasured possession.  Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.”

Psalm 103:19, “The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all.”
