Pre-service: – Gathering music… Jeff

Welcome and Opening Prayer: Jeff

Song: WAYMAKER

You are here, moving in our midst
I worship You, I worship You
You are here, working in this place
I worship You, I worship You
You are here, moving in our midst
I worship You, I worship You
You are here, working in this place
I worship You, I worship You

You are
Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are
You are
Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

You are here, touching every heart
I worship You, I worship You
You are here, healing every heart
I worship You, I worship You
You are here turning lives around
I worship You, I worship You
You are mending every heart
I worship You, I worship You

You are
Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are
You are
Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are

Responsive Reading: Jeff (John 1)

Leader: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God.  Through him all things were made.  In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.  The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.  The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.  When Jesus saw Philip he said to him, “Follow me.”

People: Philip found Nathaniel and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law and about whom the prophets also wrote – Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

Leader: “Nazareth, can anything good come from there?”  Nathanael asked?  “Come and see,” said Philip.  When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he greeted him.

People: “How do you know me?” Nathanael asked.

Leader: Jesus answered, “I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.”

People: “Rabbi, you are the Son of God, the true king of Israel.”

Leader: Jesus said, “You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree.  You will see greater things than that.  Truly I tell you, you will see ‘heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”

Prayer: Mark – seeking Jesus.

Message: Faith Does: A Warning to Rich Oppressors and the Call to Patience  James 5:1-11

Communion: Jeff – Music

Song response: PSALM 62

My soul finds rest in God alone
My Rock and my salvation
A fortress strong against my foes
And I will not be shaken
Though lips may bless and hearts may curse
And lies like arrows pierce me
I’ll fix my heart on righteousness
I’ll look to Him who hears me

O praise Him, hallelujah
My Delight and my reward
Everlasting, never failing
My Redeemer, my God
Find rest, my soul, in God alone
Amid the world’s temptations
When evil seeks to take a hold
I’ll cling to my salvation
Though riches come and riches go
Don’t set your heart upon them
The fields of hope in which I sow
Are harvested in heaven

O praise Him, hallelujah
My Delight and my reward
Everlasting, never failing
My Redeemer, my God

I’ll set my gaze on God alone
And trust in Him completely
With every day pour out my soul
And He will prove His mercy.
Though life is but a fleeting breath,
A sigh too brief to measure,
My King has crushed the curse of death
And I am His forever.

O praise Him, hallelujah
My Delight and my reward
Everlasting, never failing
My Redeemer, my God
