We embark on a journey of Drawing Near to God by exploring some Spiritual Disciplines. All of the classic spiritual disciplines can be found in some form in scripture. Several years ago I had a bit of a ‘bad attitude’ toward these spiritual practices. Then I signed up for a two year experience called Deeper Journey . Through the discipline of engaging in the spiritual disciplines, I began to learn more about the importance and beauty of seeking God in these intentional ways. I have come to understand them as different languages that enhance our communication and relationship with God. And just like any language, some communicate better than others – some are easier for us, even more effective for us in engaging our relationship with God. I tend to gravitate towards meditation on Scripture as a primary relationship language. You may gravitate towards another. Looking forward to the journey.
