Post Easter Postscript: The Kingdom of God is like… a Good Sower, sowing Good Seed, into Good Soil. You have to wonder what the disciples were talking about after Jesus resurrection. When Jesus was spending time with the disciples after his resurrection, what did they talk about? I’m sure it was an amazing engagement of all that Jesus had taught them previously. Except this time around, in light of the resurrection!
I’m imagining that Jesus retold his parables. I imagine the disciples smiling with deep joy as the Kingdom of God was revealed in resurrection light! We too, are going to take a look at Jesus’ parables about the Kingdom of God in light of the resurrection.
Discipleship is all about entering Kingdom of God living. Jesus’ parables give us profound insight into how this looks in our lives – to enter his Kingdom – not in the future, in the now! We will focus mostly on Matthew chapter 13 for the next few weeks in this time between Eastyer and Pentecost (May 24th). The Kingdom of God is like… a Good Sower, sowing Good Seed, into Good Soil. Text for Sunday is Matthew 13:1-9, 18-23. Is your heart Good Soil? God has some good seeds for growing, desiring to plant his Kingdom deep in our hearts! Let it grow!
