How to Know God’s Will

Message
How to Know God’s Will
Romans 12:1-2

Romans 12:1-2 signals the transition from Paul’s theological opus, to his practical opus- how does a person know the will of God? In two verses we are invited to a complete surrender, complete transformation, and complete confidence in God.

Here is a list of some things to prepare and think about for this Sunday’s worship:
Pray through Romans 11:33-36 as preparation for Paul’s transition in chapter 12.
Read Romans 12:1-2
What is God’s mercy and how can we practically keep it “in view?”
How might one offer their body to God? What about making one’s body holy and pleasing?
In verse one the word “logikos” is translated in many ways, such as “logical, spiritual, true and proper, acceptable, reasonable.” Discuss what “logikos worship” means and how it is practiced.
What does conformity to the world mean and look like?
Have you experienced a transformation of your mind? How do we keep “not conforming” and ongoing transforming?
Finally, when we put this all together we can test and approve, discern, the will of God.  So, do you want to know and do the will of God? No really, are you willing to do the will of God should you know the will of God?

See you Sunday,
