Good Friday: Service of Shadows and Easter: Jesus and the Roman World: A Clash of Two Kingdoms

As Lent comes to a crescendo with the events of Passion Week, we turn our eyes to the cross and an empty tomb, our crucified Christ and our resurrected Lord.  Friday night (6:30pm) we celebrate Jesus ‘once for all’ sacrifice for our sins and the sins of the world, the perfect Lamb of God, who ‘for the joy set before him endured the cross and opposition from sinful humanity.’ And Sunday, (9:30am) we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection victory over sin, death, hell and the grave.  We celebrate the new life we have in Christ as new wine is poured into new wineskins of his redeemed people.

We celebrate Jesus ‘once for all’ sacrifice for our sins and the sins of the world…

We will celebrate communion on both Good Friday and Easter this weekend, with a focus to Jesus sacrifice and death (Passover/The Lord’s Supper) and his resurrection (Wedding Feast of the Lamb.). On Sunday, come ready to share in a fellowship meal after the worship service – bring a brunchish dish or salad or dessert to share.

See you in worship! Good Friday – 6:30pm, Easter Sunday – 9:30am with brunch to follow.
